The Wrap is back!

OK, so the weekly wrap is back, obviously, else I wouldn't have made this page and the topic announcing it. This time, I hope it lasts longer than the last two times its been in activity, and I hope it gets more interest than its got before (which has actually been quite high, but I want even higher :P).

NFSCars latest news and updates

OK, a lot of this happened in the weeks before this one, but I'll include it in this wrap to update everyone on NFSCars. There has been a major reshuffle with the staff. Only 3 of the previous staff remain in their seats, namely Sander, KonArtis and Viper Jay 5. FCD, CodeRed (Gleb), Laury, DSM Racing and myself either stepped down or were 'dismissed' due to lack of activity.

The replacements consist of Portuguese Pilot, Beowulf and TwIzTiD. I'd like to wish them all good luck with their new duties and jobs.

In the news this week, I have brought back the 'Signature of the Month' competition to the site. I started this back in 2002, but it faded out due to lack of interest. It was a funny case really, everyone was all for the competition when I posted the topics every month, but then they never voted! fat lot of good that made!

Car of the week

Author: Syneateris
Car: AC Groove

Syneateris surprised us all when he suddenly uploaded his 'AC Groove', his own body tuning job on a Cobra. He got the idea for this after seeing a picture of the AC Mambo. The model has been very neatly modeled with ~7200 polygons and looks very lush in all areas, even the underbody of the car looks stunning!

The lack of driver will disappoint some people, but Syneateris wasn't going to have a low poly EA model driver inside one of his top models, so had to settle for no driver, but hey, you don't see the driver much, so nothing much to cry about.

I must say though, he's taken a rare approach to releasing his model, and offered people to use this car and edit / change it, he even encourages it! Just remember, give him the credits! and don't claim the car as your own work.

NFS 5 Editing project news

I'm in frequent contact with aru, so I have decided to include a section on here to show updates of his progress.

News,
The first testing alpha version of the ZModeler plugin is now complete, but there are still a lot of bugs to iron out before it can really be developed. It can export directly to the .crp format, without any other programs inbetween (ie. no stuff like the OIF Tool for NFS6 editing will be needed). Some features on the cars are still not available, such as transparency, driver parts, interior etc..

The current plugin will go to beta testers within a few days if everything goes as planned.... lets hope it does!

Screenshots,
I've managed to get hold of 5 brand new screenshots showing the progress aru has made with the project.
